I took the standard-of-care thyroid hormone prescription for years. It was not very effective and eventually stopped working for me altogether. I feel much better since I have been taking compounded thyroid hormones. Without this compounded hormone therapy, my quality of life would plummet. I would be effectively disabled and could no longer be a contributing member of society.
