Pituitary Adenoma Patient

20 years ago, when in my early twenties, I was diagnosed with a pituitary macroadenoma. The surgeries to resect my tumor also damaged a large portion of my brain, and cause panhypopituitarism, among other things.

As a result, I was forced into chemical menopause. Since that time, I have been taking conjugated estrogen and progesterone, in part to try to preserve fertility.

Last I checked, my healthcare choices were between me and my doctor. It offends me as a person, a woman, and a Christian, deeply, when people with zero medical training attempt to countermand the expert knowledge of my doctors, based on a book they’ve probably never even read.

As an American woman, I should have bodily autonomy, just like any man.
