Custom compounded hormones are critical for my quality of life. I was hit with a debilitating case of mono along with menopause and uncontrolled asthma in 2018. Mono is Epstein Barr based and I’m one of the cases of long-mono, which is considered auto-immune. It has manifested similar to Lyme symptoms with high ongoing inflammation, fatigue, digestive, and in my case extreme allergic and asthma problems. Without compounded hormones, any hope of returning to work or leaving the house without suffering from catastrophic asthma attacks would be taken from me.
My doctor runs quarterly blood tests to ensure my hormones are just high enough to protect my brain function, joints, cholesterol, ability to reach REM sleep, and in my case lung function and migraines.
I have been offered flat rate hormonal therapies, but sadly the flat-rate approach is too high for me in some components and too low in others. This presents me with a higher than the acceptable likelihood of cancer while causing my body a debilitating system-wide cascade.

My DEXA scan showed a 13% bone loss over a few years. I began using bio-identical hormones and retested them one year later. My results showed no change meaning my bone loss stabilized. I am hoping that with continued use, my results will show continued improvement.

For years I suffered from undiagnosed hormonal imbalances and an undiagnosed autoimmune disease (Hashimotos) affecting my thyroid. Starting in 2003 I went to several doctors seeking help. I have been on compounded bioidentical hormone therapy for almost 20 years now. My hormone levels are perfect. The osteopenia (bone loss) has improved dramatically. And I am in remission with the Hashimotos.

I am outraged that the FDA is targeting compounded bioidentical hormone therapies that are being prescribed by highly qualified and knowledgeable doctors and nurse practitioners. These medical professionals know how to assess their patients, order and read the labs as well as determine the correct ratio of hormones for compounding for each individual's needs!
I demand that Congress STOP this act of the FDA to target the doctors who prescribe cBHT with the EXTREMELY flawed report by NASEM. It is total disinformation. This is an outrage! Please listen to those of us who have deeply benefited health-wise from cBHT and from the wonderful doctors and Nurse Practitioners who know how to prescribe them. WE ARE THE PROOF THAT THESE COMPOUNDED BIOIDENTICAL HORMONE THERAPIES ARE SAFE, EFFECTIVE, AND LIFE-SAVING!

I have used Bio-identical hormones for years. They have stopped my severe hot flashes and increased the quality of my life tremendously. I don't want to go back to thirty or more hot flashes per day. My attitude and energy level are much better as well. Why would any organization or company want to negatively affect people's quality of life with so many testimonies and experiences proving compounding prescriptions really work?

I'm a 71-year-old woman and have been using bioidentical hormones since I started menopause when I was about 50 years old. Compounding pharmacies not only help me with keeping my hormones in balance but also benefits my pet in that she requires a compounded medicine to keep her liver functioning normally.

I use bioidentical hormones with good success and was eventually able to discontinue using synthetic versions which didn't work for me. FDA is overreaching on this, please don't limit my choices to big pharma. 

Hormones changed my life. From menopause, I experienced a lot of unwanted unhealthy symptoms like exhaustion, depression, foggy brain, etc. From using compounded hormones, I now have wonderful energy and feel like myself again. I love the compound pharmacy that I use and hope to be able to continue getting my hormones from there.

I have been taking these hormones for 20 years. They saved and changed my life. My hair was falling out and I didn't have any energy. Shortly have using the hormones my hair stopped falling out and all grew back. I had energy again like I had when I was much younger. Please don't take the hormones away. It should be every woman's choice and not the government's.
