“For years I tried the standard medicine for pre-menopausal s...”
For years I tried the standard medicine for pre-menopausal symptoms, as well as herbs, etc. from health food stores. No help to me. Finally, quite a few years after menopause, I found a new doctor who encouraged me to try compounding hormone therapy. I am now able to live a normal life- no hot flashes, no night sweats; I have a balanced life. I am able to keep my levels - testosterone, progesterone, estrogen, dhea, thyroid - all at optimal levels! So glad I found compounding!

Hormone replacement compound cream has relieved my menopausal symptoms and reduced my symptoms of hot flashes, mood changes and vaginal dryness, and has increased my energy.
“Compounded bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is fanta...”
Compounded bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is fantastic! I have optimized my Testosterone levels and feel fantastic. I check my blood level 4-6 times per year and my doctor and I have determined the optimal dose. This cannot be achieved with branded pharmaceuticals. The cost would be ten to twenty times the cost of the compounded product. Compounded products are identical to naturally occurring hormones. Branded products are not identical and do not always adhere to the hormone receptors in the body properly. Please let educated people take control of their lives! Anyone seeking compounded hormones has educated themselves and is willing to take the risk. The quality of life is fantastic when used properly under the supervision of a qualified physician. If these products were taken away from me and my family it would create a terrible unbearable hardship! We are educated, we are informed and we have made an adult decision!
“I was having such problems from hormone imbalance that affec...”
I was having such problems from hormone imbalance that affected my sleep, my ability to exercise (which I have always worked out six days a week, high intensity and weights) and my ability to focus at work and my self esteem lost from the weight gain I could not control from reduced calories and eating right including vitamins and supplements. I tried everything until I went to see my endocrinologist and found my life saving doctor in Haddonfield, NJ. The hormone imbalance was the cause of all the negative things going on in my body that had brought my quality of life to its lowest. Without hormone replacement therapy, I don't know how I could manage to get back to living an active life or handle the daily stresses at work and home. It is bad enough that health insurance doesn't cover these costs for women, but to take the ability away to get the required hormones to help with the transition through menopause, is just in humane.

“I ad a complete hysterectomy at 50. For 15 years I lived in ...”
I ad a complete hysterectomy at 50. For 15 years I lived in misery. I couldn't sleep, brain fog, no energy and general malaise while on Premarin and then patches. I started using a combination troche at 65. I'm now 75 and my life is sweet. I sleep well, am very physically active and brain fog is gone. I lost 15 years of my life on Premarin and patches because they aren't geared specifically for me and my body, as my combination troche is. If it is taken away and I have to go back to those "one fits all," commercial hormonal therapies, the quality of my life is greatly diminished and basically is over as I know it
“At the age of 40, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease. ...”
At the age of 40, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease. I was severely hypothyroid. Within two weeks of starting Synthroid I developed severe anxiety. This was treated with high doses of two psychotropic drugs for many years. About four years ago I found a doctor who was willing to prescribe compounded T3/T4. He also was very knowledgeable of how other female hormones are affected by the thyroid. After testing he started me on estrogen and compounded progesterone. Within a matter of a few short weeks my anxiety was gone. Shortly after I was able to begin tapering off the psychotropic drugs. (I had been treated with hormones previously but had been prescribed a synthetic progestin. I had very negative side effects with this.)

My compounded hormone medications are a major component in what allows me to live a normal life after a very difficult menopause time. I had no energy, was unable to sleep, and had extremely low libido. I believe that it should be my decision, and not a government branch, that decides what I choose to use on my body. It would be a serious to women and men to have these quality medications restricted.

Before starting cBHT, my life was miserable. I was tired, dizzy, moody and depressed. I had horrible symptoms of dizziness, vertigo to where I could NOT stand, heart palpitations, heaviness in my chest, anxiety, and mood swings. I had no energy to take care of my five year old. No energy to exercise. Now ALL of these symptoms have and are improving daily. My life has changed for the better! I feel like me again! It has improved my overall health and sense of well being. To remove these types of therapies from the public would be a mistake. I do NOT want a hormone that doesn't match my body or my chemistry just because it is FDA approved. Everyone knows a blanket approach to treatment is NOT always the best way. An individualized personal approach of the whole person has greater success rate.

Prior to utilizing my compound hormone therapy, I was not able to function in my daily life. I was struggling with my mood and motivation. I could not get a good night's sleep. It was starting to impact my job. Within days of being on the compound hormone therapy my symptoms improved. I cannot imagine having to struggle like that again if this therapy was no longer available.

The difference in my life is substantial. I feel normal using my hormone replacement, rather than a miserable person. It should be every individual's choice as to what works for them.

I was 38 years old when I required a hysterectomy. A few years passed, and the process of menopause started. I am not an anxious person, but the hormone imbalance caused me to have panic and be overly anxious. I did my research and started the HRT. It took a few months but the meds were effective and I was back to myself, no anxiety or panic feelings, I was back in control of my life. Last year I began to have a burning/stabbing pain in my pelvis area, including my vagina and UTI. I was diagnosed with pelvic floor dysfunction. It was very painful. I saw a urologist and an OBGYN- neither specialty offered any relief from my disabling pain. I was able to find a urogynecologist that correctly diagnosed me. I started vaginal cream and physical therapy. I got my life back and was able to continue working.

My vaginal tissues are much healthier, making intercourse much more pleasant. I could not afford the prescription that my insurance would pay some on. My compounding pharmacy made a comparable cream at MUCH less expense. Please allow this to continue!

I started in 2007 at age 47. I was starting to have hot flashes and feeling tired all the time. I worked with my family physician who is a strong proponent of cBHT. He studied my levels and adjusted my doses until I felt better. In 2009, I had a total hysterectomy. Because of my cBHT, I was able to maintain sanity while I went through menopause. We found the best doses that have allowed me to live a happy life. I don't have hot flashes, I don't have the awful urgency to urinate, my mind is clear and I am able to go the whole day without needing a nap. I sleep very well at night and my life is so much better!

Having had a total hysterectomy in 1979 at age 35, I started on Premarin which I took for 10 years. I stopped because of cancer warnings. I started on bioidentical hormones and it totally changed my life sexually. Premarin does nothing for libido.
