My hormone medication was recently on recall and I experienced two weeks of how I felt for YEARS. The inability to feel emotion, to move, to breathe easily... I was reminded of how much my hormonal imbalance affected my life for YEARS. I am 26 years old and should not be feeling the way I did. I should be full of energy and easily exercise. With Hashimoto's disease, among other things, my hormone imbalance caused so much distress on my life. I cannot express how important this type of medicine is to me. I would legitimately move out of the country if I was forced to stop using my daily prescriptions.
Even with my medication I have good days and bad days. Again, I am 26 years old, I have an MBA and a bachelor's degree. I am highly educated and understand how medicine can play such a vital role in the health and well-being of others. Why would anyone want to take away such a gift that is so often, overlooked by a majority of the medical field?
Why don't we focus these erroneous efforts on other important things, like curing cancer.
