Medicine has been limited by the conceptual error of identifying reproduction as the only purpose of hormones, therefore neglecting the replacement of these important mediators and messengers when their levels precipitously fall at perimenopause. This blinding prevents hypotheses and study that would lead to more robust development of formulations and protocols. This will further spiral with the restriction of compounding, which remains the precinct of physician judgement and expertise to render individualized patient care in close collaboration with patients. Restoration of these hormones to healthy levels maintained during reproductive age protects against early chronic disease and is beneficial to all systems from head to toe.
