I am 50 years old and have been on bio-identical hormone therapy since my late 30s - with only positive results. I have Hashimoto's, Celiac Disease, and CIRS. I have suffered from my autoimmune disease since I was a kid and it had many side effects throughout my life. I never had a normal menstrual cycle, even as a teenager and in my 20s. I was unable to conceive. It was not until I was put on bio-identical hormones in my late 30s that things started to normalize for me - not just my period but mentally and emotionally as well. Now I deal with menopause and it is helping in different ways - hot flashes (which are truly horrible to experience and I have gone experienced a lot), and again mental and emotional stability. I have always been under a doctor's care who monitors me closely. I ask you to reconsider and not place a ban on these life-changing medications. For someone like me who has had many hormonal imbalances for decades, I need medication to maintain my health and basically allow me to lead a normal life. I hope these decisions are not being made to benefit pharmaceutical companies instead of the patients.
