In 2010, I suffered from the deepest depression of my life. I had been on a low dose of Lexapro for several years before 2010. Lexapro quit working for me. My GP doctor raised my dosage. It didn't help. He prescribed another medication. It didn't help either and I didn't know how much longer I would live. I didn't want to kill myself, but I didn't want to live either. Finally, my GP doctor didn't know what else to do. I tried a psychologist and that didn't help either. I found a nurse practitioner who ran several tests on me and together we decided to try bioidentical hormone replacement. Slowly, it worked and I began to feel better than I ever had. I have probably had a hormone imbalance for most of my adult life that resulted in depression among other symptoms. I am very grateful to have found this solution which I have used for the last 10 years. My quality of life is much better because of hormone replacement which allows me to be successful in my work as a teacher and also benefits my family.
