I've been using HRT for about 10 years. I began using it to help with the vaginal dryness I was experiencing after entering menopause in my mid-50's. Intimacy was out of the question at that time. I was also struggling with UTIs a couple times a year resulting in regular antibiotic use. Since starting using hormone replacement, my vaginal dryness has greatly improved along with my sex life. But best of all, I have had no more urinary tract infections eliminating the need to use antibiotics. That alone has been a god-send which I do not want to give up. Witnessing elderly women in my family struggle with late-age UTIs that ultimately became factors leading to their deaths is not a path I wish to follow.
