I lost an ovary when I was 30 years of age due to an ovarian cyst went into immediate menopause. At that time due to recommendations of current doctor I started taking manufactured hormones. At that time there was a big promotion to caution women not to take manufactured hormones due to women getting cancer. Some time after that a friend recommended her doctor who was trained in compounded therapy. So in the 90's I started taking compounded bioidentical hormone pills. I was delighted not only for health reasons the cost was substantially lower. Never once in all the years I have been taking had any problems with taking the Compounded Hormones. If I miss one or two days of not taking the compound hormone I notice a difference in my feeling of well being. If the FDA for what reasons I do not know restrict the use of compounded hormone replacement therapy it will have a profound negative effect on my health and well being. I am now retired and live on my Social Security and as I recall from years back the manufactured hormone was triple the cost of compounded hormones. I still to this day do not trust manufacture hormones and I am greatly concerned I will not be able to afford them. Which again I will say, have a profound negative effect on my health and well being. I am 73 years of age and at this time if I have to give up hormone therapy will cause grave health issues for me.
