I had to have a total hysterectomy at the age of 38. Oral hormone replacement therapy didn't work for me. I was an emotional wreck, had no energy and was at risk for developing osteoporosis and heart disease because of my low hormone levels. Implantable pellets became available and saved my life, literally. When those became unavailable, I tried oral tablets again with a negative result.
