I had a complication during my pregancy which resulted in tracking my CA125 marker. It was erratically high and prompted my gynecologist to recommend a hysterectomy. I resisted and he persisted. In listening to my concerns he suggested hormone replacement therapy. As our conversation progressed, the best choice for me was the bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. I had the procedure and started the therapy and am in good health because of it, under the direction of a prescribing physician. I have worked with three different compounding pharmacists since my hysterectomy. They have eached impressed me with thier professionalism, commitment, and deep knowledge, above the traditional pharmacist. My compounding pharmacists are in regular contact with my physician, as partners in my healthcare. I would not be in the good healthy place that I am in today without the support of my compounding pharmacist. It would be a terrible predicament to lose my compounding pharmacist's support. Traditional medications for my needs are not the appropriate option. I pay out of pocket for my compounded BHT and don't understand why these carefully compounded, and regulated medications are not covered under traditional health plans.
