I am menopausal (total hysterectomy) and have osteoporosis/osteopenia in back/neck/hips. I began bioidentical hormones to restructure my bones which they are doing (per DEXA scans). I tried to take 100 mg progesterone pills but they made my breasts terribly sore and made me dizzy and nauseus so I opted for compounded troche at 60 mg. Probem solved. When I was diagnosed with LS, I had two options, steroid creams or compounded Estroil cream that my physician recommended. I am a 65 year old HIGHLY sensitive patient and pharmaceutical drugs typically cause more severe issues for me than the original symptoms did. They typically backfire and cause me to get even sicker. I have to have an alternative in order to function. My body cannot tolerate standard drugs. I take care of my 75 year old husband with cognitive decline (who no longer drives.) If I am incapacitated due to drug illness, life as we know it stops.
