I am a 66 year old female who has suffered from hormone imbalance for all of my adult life. I first started having problems after the birth of our first child. I experienced irritable bladder while breastfeeding and then every month when I ovulated. I was sent back and forth between the gynecologist and the urologist who could offer little relief for my symptoms. The symptoms would go away while I was pregnant and then return after I had delivered. As I approached perimenopause, my symptoms developed into vulvodynia which I continue to suffer from when my hormones are out of balance. I would be absolutely miserable and have little quality of life if compounded hormone replacement were not available. For just a few minutes, ponder for yourself what it would be like to have your female private parts turn beet red and burn 24/7. I have an OBGYN nurse practitioner who regularly checks my hormone balance to be certain that I am taking the right levels of compounded progesterone/estrogen capsules. She also checks my testosterone levels. I would like to think that traditional medical medicine would have addressed my symptoms long ago, but it has not. I would be lost without any hope of relief if I could not use compounded bioidentical hormones. Please do not put restrictions on these very necessary treatments that help me to have a high quality of life.
