I am a 63 year old female. I became menopausal over the two years leading up to my 47th birthday. Early menopause runs in my family. By the age of 54, I was starting to be uncomfortable having sex, although I was using an Estring to provide hormones. About at that same time, my long-term sexual partner was diagnosed with prostate cancer and had radical surgery which ended his ability to have sex. Six years of celibacy later, I got reacquainted with a former lover, but my vagina had atrophied to the point of non-functionality. I underwent four sessions of the Mona Lisa Touch laser treatment. There was improvement, but still issues. I was prescribed compounded bioidentical replacement hormones (cBHRT) estradiol suppositories and they made all the difference! Later, because of my need to travel, I also used the cream for injection into the vagina. 18 months after completing the 4th round of the Mona Lisa touch, I had a follow up laser treatment. It has been nearly a year later. My sexual relations are sporadic, but utilizing the cBHT estradiol makes sex possible. Not having cBHRT as an option would end my sex life. I am still young at heart!
