During menopause my hair was falling out at a rate of approximately 300 strands per day. It was visibly thinning and it negatively affected my happiness and confidence. Hormone therapy stopped my excessive hair loss. As a woman, it is socially societally unacceptable to be bald and I would have been at a loss without it.
