At 42, I was barely functional and struggling with depression. Despite a complete diet and lifestyle change, including a 40 pound weight loss, I was still struggling to get through my work week and spent the weekends sleeping. As a dialysis nurse, this was having a major impact on my life and my patients, not to mention how it was affecting my family.
Hormone replacement changed my life. I can think clearly again, I sleep well again, I wake up refreshed and enthusiastic and can give my best to my patients again. I have zero depression or anxiety, and feel like my life is worthwhile and productive again. And best of all, my family isn't picking up the slack - I am able to focus and spend time with them in the evenings and weekends instead of just trying to recuperate enough to get through another week.
I did everything I could on my end, but it wasn't until the hormones were addressed that I was really able to benefit from my hard work. I am healthier now than I've been in 15 years, and I hope to go into my 50's even healthier still.
PLEASE don't remove this therapy option, it's been such a game changer. I want to go into my older years healthy and strong, so that I can continue to serve the medical needs of my community rather than become another patient in need of care.
