I have been on hormone therapy since I was 50 years old when the doctor prescribed me the one size fits all pill. I still had symptoms, but I plowed through about ten years of pills, patches and whatever they could throw my way for a myriad of symptoms I will spare putting down, just to say, I was not living my best life. But, I might add, NO labs were done to dial in my imbalance. I just tried different doses and endured the speech at every doctor visit about how I would die of a stroke or some such horrible demise. To me, to live an unbalanced, crying, sweating, bleeding, depressed and anxious life, (sorry I had to do it) was a fate worse than death. Then it happened.
I went to my neighbors for dinner, and one of her guests told me about pellets after hearing how miserable I was. I ran to her provider, who ran my labs and carefully titrated the proper dose into me. I started feeling normal after about a week. My symptoms are GONE! And they have been gone for the last 4 years. If not for pellets I don't know where I'd be, also every single friend I have that needs hormone therapy, I have told, and they are all well and happy.
PLEASE DONT RUIN MY LIFE and ban this life-saving treatment. And I know medicine as I have been a chemo RN for 31 years.
